Facts About  Ellie Goulding

Ellie was signed by Polydor in 2009. "Under the Sheets," her first single, was recorded in the bedroom of her producer at the University of Surrey.

To pursue a degree in drama at the University of Kent, Ellie made the move from her rural home to Canterbury.

When Ellie was a child, she was afraid of the dark, and she can still only sleep with the lights on. The phobia served as a reason for her single "Lights."

Ellie Goulding has a $20 million net worth but she lives on $10 each day.

At the age of nine, Ellie began playing the clarinet, and after 5 years, she began playing the guitar. She began writing her own songs hen she was 15 and won a college singing competition.

Ellie was invited to perform at the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, which was one of the highlights.

Elena Jane Goulding was brought up in a council house near the Welsh border in the small English village of Lyonshall in Herefordshire. Since her father left the family home when Ellie was only five years old, she was mostly raised by her mother.

The wedding was attended by a number of royals, including Princess Eugenie and Sarah, Duchess of York.
